Real Patient Experience

What Is Belotero?

Belotero is an FDA-approved hyaluronic-acid filler engineered with Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM) technology to integrate smoothly into the upper dermis and erase fine to moderate wrinkles.

Results appear instantly and stay soft for 6–12 months with minimal swelling. Because the gel is ultra-light, it excels where other fillers might show or lump—think vertical lip lines, tear troughs, and crow’s-feet.

FAQs - Belotero

How long do Belotero® results last?
Smoothing typically endures 6 – 18 months depending on the specific Belotero formulation, treatment area, and your individual metabolism, lifestyle, and skin condition. Because the gel is not permanent, most patients schedule a follow-up visit around the one-year mark for a touch-up
How much time does the treatment take?
A single session usually lasts about 30 minutes. It may run a bit longer if multiple facial zones—such as lip lines and tear troughs—are treated in the same appointment.
What can I do to obtain the best possible results after injection?
Skip makeup for the first 12 hours, and avoid saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, extreme sun/UV exposure, and very cold temperatures for two weeks. Attend your follow-up visit as advised; your surgeon may add a small amount of product to perfect the initial result.
How long is recovery time?
Belotero requires little to no downtime. Most people resume normal daily activities immediately, though it’s smart to delay intense workouts for 24 hours.
Does the treatment hurt?
Only mild pinpricks are expected. We apply topical anesthetic—or local anesthesia if you prefer—and Belotero is available with lidocaine to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.
Are the effects temporary or permanent?
Belotero’s hyaluronic acid is gradually broken down by your body over several months, eventually leaving no trace. If an unexpected adjustment is needed, your surgeon can use the enzyme hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler
Are there any risks or side effects?
Most reactions are mild and injection-site related—slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, or tenderness that resolve within a day or two. Less common issues (infection, prolonged inflammation, discoloration, or vascular events) are rare and will be reviewed with you in detail before treatment.
Are there any reasons I should not be treated with Belotero®?
Skip treatment if you’re allergic to any filler ingredients, prone to keloids or granulomas, or have active skin inflammation or infection. Belotero isn’t recommended over permanent implants, for patients on strong anticoagulants, with certain systemic illnesses (autoimmune disease, uncontrolled diabetes, rheumatism, endocarditis), or for anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years old. Discuss your full medical history with your surgeon to ensure Belotero is right for you.
