Answers for planning your consultation

Liposuction or a tummy tuck?

Liposuction targets localized fat. A tummy tuck removes loose abdominal skin and may repair separated abdominal muscles. The right option depends on skin elasticity, muscle separation, and your goals; liposuction alone does not remove excess skin.

What risks should I discuss?

Ask about contour irregularities, infection, fluid accumulation, altered sensation, blood clots, and anesthesia risks. Your medical history, treatment area, and any combined procedures affect the plan. Recovery and results vary.

Published procedure overview

What is Traditional & High-Definition Liposuction / Liposculpting

Liposuction removes localized fat through a thin cannula placed through small incisions. It can reshape areas such as the abdomen, waist, thighs, or arms. It is not a treatment for obesity and does not remove excess skin on its own.

Ideal for:  Healthy, non-smoking adults who can pinch a small roll of stubborn fat, have firm skin, and seek shape—not weight-loss.

How Traditional & High-Definition Liposuction / Liposculpting Works: A Closer Look

  1. Assessment: review your goals, medical history, skin elasticity, and treatment areas with the surgeon.

  2. Anesthesia: your surgeon recommends a plan based on your health and the extent of treatment.

  3. Fat removal: a cannula inserted through small incisions suctions fat to reshape the contour.

  4. Recovery: follow instructions for compression, activity, and follow-up. Swelling settles gradually; the final result takes time to develop.

FAQs - Liposuction

How much does liposuction cost?
Liposuction at Leva Medical starts at $7,500 under local (tumescent) anesthesia; general anesthesia costs more due to added resources. The fee covers your board-certified surgeon, private surgical suite, compression garment, and 12-month doctor-guided follow-up. With approved credit, payments can be as low as $250–$415 per month after a typical deposit. Exact quote after exam; individual anatomy varies.
Can I go home the same day?
Yes. Liposuction is outpatient—you’ll relax in recovery for about an hour, clear safety checks, and need a responsible adult to drive you home.
What special after-care will I need?
Wear your compression garment as directed, keep incisions clean, begin gentle walking on day one, and avoid heavy lifting for three weeks.
Do I need lymphatic massages after liposuction?
No. Our micro-cannula tumescent technique and layered compression protocol are designed to minimize fluid build-up, so routine lymphatic massage is not required. We’ll only recommend sessions if your individual healing indicates a benefit.
Are there alternative procedures or add-ons?
Depending on your goals, liposuction can be paired with fat transfer (e.g., BBL), a tummy tuck, or RF/laser skin tightening. Non-surgical body contouring treats mild fat pockets.
Does liposuction hurt?
Expect soreness similar to a tough workout. Most patients rate discomfort 3–4 / 10 and switch to over-the-counter pain relievers after two days.
Will scars be noticeable?
Incisions are just 2–3 mm and hidden in natural skin folds; they typically fade to hairline-thin marks within a few months.
How long do results last?
Removed fat cells don’t grow back, so results are long-lasting. Maintaining a stable weight and active lifestyle preserves your new shape.
